Comparing Learning Management System Discussion to Packback: Impact on faculty and student outcomes

Exploring new and emerging research on the effectiveness of Packback discussion vs the Learning Management System discussion to drive successful student and faculty outcomes.

June 16th, 2021 12 PM CST | 1 PM EST Your Desk!

In Fall 2019 and Spring 2020, 10 institutions participated in a research study comparing student outcomes on Packback discussion to outcomes found with traditional Learning Management System discussion.

In April 2020, Packback released the findings of that study in Impact of Online Discussion Platform and Pedagogy on Student Outcomes. Among the findings from the study, institutions reported increased levels of student engagement, vastly improved discussion rigor, improved final grade outcomes, and high rates of student and faculty satisfaction.

On June 16th, 2021 at 12 PM CST, join Dr. E. Ann McGee in conversation with VP Jana Kooi, Dr. Kimberly Coffman, and Dr. Kathy Cecil-Sanchez as they come together to discuss the findings from Packback's year-long study, explore the emerging research on discussion pedagogy, and discuss the future of educational technology.
